Christmas is coming and so is the Chocolate, vanilla, coffee, milk, imperial stout I am brewing for a friend. With 7 different grains and various flavors throughout, it is a malt head’s heaven and will be available on tap once the brewery is up and running. To monitor the beer during fermentation I use a Plaato fermentation lock. It is like a ispindle, but doesn’t need to be submersed into the beer. I wouldn’t take the data it gives out as gospel, but it is a good indicator on how the fermentation process is going. On the brewery front, equipment keeps being brought while a suitable primacies is still being sought after. We now have a grain crusher, 2 x scales, and spunding valves for pressure fermentation. A filling and canning machine will be on its way around January/February. So be on the look out for samples (or give me a call and we can arrange something). Have a good Christmas and a happy new year and look for the newest update in early January.
